One Faith – One Family – One Future Capital Campaign and School Project Leaders Meet to Share Plans and Progress
As many are aware, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. John Vianney are in the early stages of our One Faith – One Family – One Future Capital Campaign to fund the construction of a new Catholic school in northeast Bettendorf.
This past week, Capital Campaign General Co-Chairs, Andrea Sue and Brad Boeye (OLOL) and Nick and Jessica Palczynski (SJV), met with the project’s steering committee, the pastors, the Steier Group team, and project architect Mark Miller. This was the first opportunity for campaign and project leadership to be mutually introduced. It was also an opportunity to introduce Daryl Schloz (SJV), who is teaming with OLOL parishioner and steering committee member, Mike Johnson (OLOL), to oversee the construction process. (Mike was unable to attend the meeting.)
The Boeyes and Palczynskis expressed their enthusiasm for the vision and their progress with assembling a strong volunteer team to reach out to parish families in the campaign. Daryl outlined steps for moving the project forward in a timely manner and how he saw his and Mike’s shared role. Architect Mark Miller shared his design revisions to the plan, and the Steier Group team shared what information was still needed to keep campaign preparation on track. All in all, the meeting was another great example of our two parishes successfully working and walking together toward a shared vision.
This is an exciting time for our two parishes as we combine our shared expertise, faith and resources to build our future together. Please continue to pray for our leaders and for all who are working diligently on our project and campaign.

Campaign Theme and General Co-Chairs Announced
After years of hard work, careful planning and plenty of prayer, we are pleased to announce that Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint John Vianney are moving forward together with a capital campaign to fund the construction of a new Catholic school in northeast Bettendorf. The decision to move forward was made in collaboration with the project steering committee and the parish councils of both parishes. Ultimately though, the decision was made by you, our faith family. During our recent planning study, most respondents indicated they would financially support the effort to construct a new school.
Our campaign’s theme is One Faith – One Family – One Future. This is fitting for our two parish communities and this campaign because it reflects our journey together in ministry to the Bettendorf Catholic community and the vision of our two parishes eventually becoming one.
In keeping with that theme and vision, we are also happy to announce that Andrea Sue and Brad Boeye from Our Lady of Lourdes and Nick and Jessica Palczynski from St. John Vianney have agreed to team as General Co-Chairs of the campaign. Working with Fr. Rich, Fr. Jason, and the Steier Group, they will give guidance and drive the overall fundraising effort.
Even though the capital campaign is underway, it will likely be the fall of 2023 before most parishioners are invited to give. Between now and then, we will be seeking some lead financial gifts to ensure that we have significant support for the campaign before broadening our reach to all parishioners. There is much preparation work to complete, including the project steering committee’s crucial work of addressing concerns our parishioners raised in the planning study as they finalize Phase 1 projects and goals for the campaign. For that, we are happy to announce that Daryl Schloz (SJV) and Mike Johnson (OLOL) have agreed to serve as co-project managers for the school and will be responsible for its contractors.
This is an exciting time for our two parishes as we seek to lay a strong foundation for a positive future. In the coming months, you will learn much more about the campaign and the different ways you can help. In the meantime, please pray for our leaders and volunteers who will soon work diligently to ensure a successful outcome.
